In the presence of Mr. Jorge Santos, Minister for Communities of Cape Verde, a ceremony was held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the restoration of the Jewish cemetery in Praia, where commemorative plaques were unveiled, including one in honor of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.This was followed by a conference in collaboration with the Cape Verdean National Library, highlighting the presence and heritage of Moroccans of the Jewish faith in Cape Verde.Mr. Elmehdi Boudra, President and Founder of the Association Mimouna , was invited to speak at the conference, highlighting the role of civil society in preserving jewish heritage in Africa. This initiative was organized by The Cap Verde Jewish Heritage Project , an American non profit which aims to honor memory of the Moroccan Jews who immigrated to Cap Verde.
