As part of the grassroot activities of the Rebuilding Our Homes initiative, which is implemented by Association Mimouna and the American Sephardi Federation and sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), ten young girls and boys from the Mellah of Rabat were invited to watch the documentary "In your eyes, I see my country" by the 2015 NYSFF Rising Star Pomegranate Award Recipient, Kamal Hachkar and which follows the journey Neta and Amit, a Jerusalem-based couple who travel to Morocco in quest for answers regarding thei identity, their heritage and their history.

Mimouna is a Moroccan association that strives to preserve and promote the history of Morocco’s ancient Jewish community. Founded in 2007, Mimouna seeks to educate the Moroccan people about the Jewish culture and encourage harmony between Jews and Muslims.
