Virtual Conference Explores Jewish Heritage in the Arab World

Association Mimouna and AJC Access organised a virtual conference on Jewish Heritage in the Arab world.

The conference titled Jewish Heritage in the Arab World: New Opportunities for a New Generation has begun with an opening from His Excellency Andre Azoulay discussing the role of Judaism in Arab society and focusing on its importance for the next generation. The group was split into two breaking sessions. One group discussed preserving Jewish Heritage in the Arab World, and the other group discussed present Jewish Life in the MENA region. We were honoured to have those public and respected figures as panelist:

Rabbi Moche Uzan, Assistant to the Chief Rabbi of Tunisia

Ebrahim Nonoo, President of the Jewish Community of Bahrain

Ross Kriel, Head of the Jewish Community of the United Arab Emirates

David Toledano, Head of the Jewish community of Rabat.

Zhor Rehihil, curator of the Jewish Moroccan Museum in Casablanca

Habib Kazdaghli, Dean of the Faculty of Tunis (La Manouba), expert in the history of the Tunisian Jews

Magda Haroun, president of the Jewish community of Cairo

Nagi Georges Zeidan, expert on the Jewish community in Lebanon and author of "Jews of Lebanon: from Abraham to Nowadays"
