As an off-campus activity, Mimouna Club AUI organized a cultural field trip to Fez to explore the Jewish side of the city and its historic and religious sites. The trip covered the length and the breadth of the city. The group had the opportunity to meet Rabbi Abraham Sabbagh who talked about the significance of the Jewish sites in the city to Fassi Jews home and abroad, and also Mr. Elie Devico who shared his experience as Moroccan Jew from Fez.

Mimouna is a Moroccan association that strives to preserve and promote the history of Morocco’s ancient Jewish community. Founded in 2007, Mimouna seeks to educate the Moroccan people about the Jewish culture and encourage harmony between Jews and Muslims.
