Mimouna Club AUI Explores Jewish Heritage in Casablanca
the Mimouna Club of AUI organized a tripto Casablanca, where the present members had the opportunity to visit some important Jewish sites in Morocco's largest city. They started by visiting the Museum of Morocco Judaisme. After a warm welcome from Ms. Zhor Rehihil, the yhad the opportunity to discuss different components of the Museum as well as thehistory of its creation. The group was educated on the achievements of SimonLevy, a famous Moroccan political figure who dreamt of immortalizing Jewish heritage in the Arab world. Currently, this museum is the only one of its kindin the MENA region.
After our visit, the group had the opportunity to eat at the Cercle de l'Union restaurant in Casablanca, one of the oldest and most established restaurants in the city. the food was exquisite and the atmosphere quite charming.
After this, Mimouna visited the Old Jewish Synagogue of Beth-El, one of the most vibrant and beautiful synagogues in Casablanca.
They ended the trip by visiting theHassan II Mosque in Casablanca in memoriam to the Muslim and Jewish heritage that makes Morocco such a unique religious and cultural site.
