On the fringes of the Aviram Awards in Marrakech, a tech startup competition for the Middle East and North Africa that honors young business people who use technology, commerce, and innovation to transform daily life. The Mimouna Association met with the program coordinators and contestants at the Mellah of Marrakech to discuss the history of the Moroccan Jewish community, the organization's work there since 2007, and the goal of the DAKIRA collectors, who use interviews, videos, and photographs to preserve the memory of the Mellah of Marrakech. The attendees were guided to the Jewish neighborhood, the synagogues, and the Jewish cemetery by Mimouna members and a group of those who had benefited from Mimouna's programs in the Mellah.
