The Florence Amzallag award was instituted this year by Association Mimounaand the American Sephardi Federation. The Award was named after the ASF's Vice-President and Mimouna's honorary adviser Florence Amzallag-Tatistcheff, an elegant and a proud Jewish Moroccan woman who never forgot herroots.
This year, the award was given to Dr. Vanessa Paloma El-Baz, along-standing friend and partner of Association Mimouna since its inception. Dr. Vanessa is an extraordinary woman who has done an exceptional work inpreserving the Jewish Moroccan culture, Music and languages.

Mimouna is a Moroccan association that strives to preserve and promote the history of Morocco’s ancient Jewish community. Founded in 2007, Mimouna seeks to educate the Moroccan people about the Jewish culture and encourage harmony between Jews and Muslims.
